FAQ's
What is copy trading?
Copy trading allows you to mirror the trades of expert traders. When you choose a strategy, your account is linked to the trader's master account, and every trade they make is automatically copied in real-time to your account. This seamless process ensures that you benefit from their expertise without having to manually manage trades yourself
Do I need prior trading experience to engage in copy trading?
If your plan is only to follow and copy other traders there is no experience required, although it can be helpful in analysing and selecting a good trader to copy. In reality it is often the traders with no experience who like to use copy trading. It can be a good way to begin growing an account, and if you take the time to analyse the trades being made by those you follow it can also be a very good way to learn about trading too.
How can I fund my account?
You can fund your account using major cryptocurrencies like USDT. Withdrawals can be made in crypto as well, ensuring flexibility and convenience.
How can I track performance?
You can monitor your account and see every trade made by the expert traders`. This full transparency allows you to track your accounts performance.
How many traders and strategies are available?
There are 4 different strategies to copy, each managed by experienced traders. These strategies vary in terms of risk, potential returns, and the currency pairs traded, giving you flexibility in choosing one that aligns with your financial goals and risk tolerance. Each strategy is designed to suit different types of investors, from those seeking steady, conservative returns to those open to higher risk and reward opportunities.
Is there a minimum investment?
Yes, each strategy has a different minimum investment amount. The minimum ranges from $3,000 to $5,000 USD.
Can I trade myself when I am copying other strategies? When you are copying a strategy, you can still trade yourself by using a cTrader Live account. You cannot trade yourself using a copy-trading account. You will need to create a new cTrader Live account in the Olympus Capital website, then fund that account to trade yourself.
Can I close the trades that I have copied from my strategy provider?
All the positions that your strategy provider has opened on your behalf are listed in the 'Positions' tab of your investment profile. However, you can only view opened positions in a copy-trading account. The only way for investors to close all positions at once is to stop copying the strategy.
How many strategy providers can I copy from?
When you start copying a strategy, you allocate a certain amount of funds from your regular account to a copy-trading account. This suggests that you can allocate funds to as many copy-trading accounts as you wish until your account balance allows for doing this. Technically, there is no limit on how many strategies you can copy on cTrader.
What happens when I stop copying a strategy?
When you stop copying a strategy, all open positions copied from that strategy will be automatically closed for your copy-trading account, and any unrealised performance fees will be realised.
Why Is My ROI Different from the Main Strategy?
The reason largely comes down to the time that has passed since the strategy first started.
For example, the main strategy might show an ROI of 5%, whereas your account might show an ROI of 2% or even a negative return. This difference is because the ROI displayed for the main strategy reflects its entire performance since inception, encompassing all the trades made during that time.
However, your account's ROI only reflects the performance from the moment you started copying the strategy. Naturally, this means your results won’t include any of the gains or losses from before you began copying. As a result, your ROI will likely differ from the main strategy's ROI, especially in the short term.
Understanding this distinction can help manage expectations as your account grows and performs based on the strategy’s ongoing trades.
